It’s easy to make by the pitcher, too, so that you can serve it at a wedding shower, or for a large group. I mean, what is better than a giant pitcher of fresh lemonade?
Answer? Pink Lemonade Moscato!
What is Moscato?
As I am not terribly familiar with Italian grapes, I had to bust open my Oxford Companion to Wine, and gave everyone on Instagram a sneak preview of this post.
Moscato is the Italian name for the Muscat grape varietal, which shows up the world with several different names, including Moscatel in Spanish and Portguese. While the naming convention depends upon the country and the subvarietal of the grape, in California you are most likely to find it labeled Moscato and made in a rosé style.
Muscat is also the grape in Moscato d’Asti, the lightly sparkling, low alcohol wine. Asti (without the Moscato d’ in front) is also made of Muscat, but has more atmospheres of pressure (more sparkling) and is higher alcohol.
Ingredients:
- 1 – 187ml bottle of Pink Moscato (or ¾ cup from a larger bottle)
- 1 cup pink lemonade
- ½ lemon, sliced
- 3 strawberries, sliced
- Lots of ice
